COVID-19 (more commonly known as coronavirus) is a new and deadly virus. It is pneumonia-like and manifests with the following symptoms
- severe cough
- difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
The illness causes lung lesions and pneumonia. Milder cases resemble the flu or a bad cold. Incubation period is believed to be from 5 to 28 days. Authorities have seen cases that did not meet the usual description, in which the first symptoms were gastrointestinal, including diarrhoea.
If the following symptoms arise and you have travelled overseas within the last 2 weeks, please call Dr Tran and inform him of your situation before coming to the surgery so preparation can be instigated before arrival. He will give you further instructions before you come to the surgery. For afterhours, you can contact your local hospital for advise or call the local public health unit.
